Il y a deux méthodes principales pour déterminer comment éclaircir et ombrer sa figurine.
La première est la plus simple à comprendre et à appliquer, elle consiste à éclaircir les arêtes et les parties saillantes de la figurine.
La deuxième est plus dure à conceptualiser, mais donne un rendu bien plus réaliste et satisfaisant. Elle consiste à reproduire une lumière venant du dessus de la figurine.
